A few weeks ago on a cold morning it went limp again. Shut it off, and restart it ,and all was fine. This morning it was cold again and the same thing happened.

Hi guys - I'm having an issue with my TJ that's got me stumped. The jeep is stuck in 2nd gear or what I guess is referred to as "limp mode". It refused to shift up or down (auto transmission). I'm getting a P1698 code for a Failed TCM. I put in a new TCM and checked the wiring harness to see if anything is frayed and everything looks good.3.6, 6 speed, regeared, and Limp Mode. As of right now I'm using my jeep as a daily driver about 16 miles each way. About after 10-12 miles every time on the highway my jeep starts going into what I think is a "limp mode" but I'm not certain. It runs just fine but then I instantly feel some sort of drag almost like a light break input.
