On the whole, I think glaives are the best. Better yet if you do some smithing to make a 2H polearm that is swing-only, with the blade as long as possible, but shortened handle (so that it swings faster). Swinging is much better for overall damage output but some people just like the satisfaction of hitting with a couched lance. Custom weapons with specific parts will let you do both. 2H weapons can work on horseback but you need them to be very long.

Warrazor is such a fun weapon, +150 base dmg swing (oneshots everything, very similar to Rhompaia/Glaive), can use Brace, can be used on horseback, aaaand you can also thrust with it(!). Most of the weapons have clear intended roles, Warrazor just breaks all of them lol. Pretty much only thing you can't do with it is to wear a shield or throw it.
